St Gabriel’s Mission Statement

Excellence with Compassion

Excellence with compassion is at the heart of St Gabriel’s. We are a church school and value our strong links with the parish church of St Gabriel’s and the Pimlico community. We seek to provide an excellent education for all our pupils which is rooted in compassion, understanding, respect and equality for all.

The aims of our school are:

  • To foster and encourage our children’s self-awareness, beliefs and spirituality, and develop their sensitivity to other people and respect for other religions,
  • To help children to develop their skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science and ICT through learning which is broad, balanced and inspiring,
  • To help children fulfil their potential by creating a happy, healthy, safe, nurturing environment,
  • To provide children with the academic, social, emotional and spiritual foundations which will give them the best start to secondary school and which will give them a wide range of opportunities and the chance to pursue their personal aspirations.

Our Vision:

EXCELLENCE:

Excellence is exemplified in Jesus and the perfect love he has for us. We therefore strive to be like Jesus, with excellence in how we treat others and working to the best of our ability in all we do. The bible teaches us to work at anything we do with all of our heart (Colossians 3 v 23). This for us is also excellence. We want to provide the best possible education and start in life for the children of our community. We aim to encourage our children to strive for excellence themselves and enable them to be the best they can be. Excellent in their behaviour and the way they treat others, excellent academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

COMPASSION:

The bible teaches us to clothe ourselves with compassion (Colossians 2 v 12). This runs through all we do. We aim for this to be championed by the way all members of our community treat each other. It is threaded through our behaviour policy and our 3 core rules and links explicitly with our 6 values. St Gabriel’s children treat others in the school and wider community with compassion and we believe this gives them the building blocks for now and later life to ensure a concern for all around them and in the wider world.
